Baylor Invitational
WACO, TX. - The Antonian cross country teams competed in their third team scored meet of the season and returned to San Antonio with impressive showings after the women placed first and the men finished second at the Baylor Invitational held on the Bear Run Course in Waco, TX. The women were paced by Olivia Lopez, who finished 4th overall, while the men saw Matt Gazda set the standard by finishing first overall.
The Lady Apaches, getting stronger and stronger each meet, competed well in the 3A division with Lopez crossing the tape first at 13:13.68. Junior Greta Porisch at 13:49.36 (12th) with Angeli Phillips (14:02.49, 19th), Angela Garza (14:22.56, 30th) and Chloe Peterson (14:53.12, 46th) rounding out the five scorers.
On the men's side, Ovilla Christian won the team title with 66 points and the Apaches were second at 76. Gazda finished first overall at 17:02.24 with Philip McBride following at 18:19.05 (12th). The other three scorers in the meet for ACP were Cesar Rodriguez (18th at 18:29.73), Marcos Perez (20th at 18:30.35) and Gio Diaz (42nd at 18:52.68).
The Apaches will head to Corpus Christi for the Texas A&M CC Islander Splash this weekend. The girls will run the 3,200m circuit at 10:10 A.M. with the boys competing in the 5K race at 10:30 A.M.

Texas A&M-CC Invitational Information
The cross country will travel to Corpus Christi on Friday, September 28th for the TAMU-CC Invitational. We will be staying at the Holiday Inn Emerald Beach (361) 883-5731. Each athlete will need to pay $28.29, which is due on Thursday, September 25th. This amount does not cover food. Please make sure your child has plenty of money to eat for the weekend. We will depart after school on Friday, September 26th, and return on Saturday, September 27th. We will spend Saturday afternoon at the beach and return to San Antonio later that evening. Races start at 10:10 AM with the last race starting at 10:30 AM.
Cross Country Gear
If you would like to order extra short sleeve or long sleeve shirts they will cost $15.00 for the SS and $18.00 for the LS.
Texas A&M-CC Parent Room Available.
We have 1 open room for this weekends meet in Corpus Christi. Each room has two double beds and costs $97.01. The first parent to respond will have first priority. Please email dlovell@antonian.org if you are interested.
