McNeil Invitational
ROUND ROCK, TX. - The Apaches traveled to Round Rock, TX, for the 2008 Mc Neil meet on the same course the UIL Championships will be conducted nearly one month later.
In the women's standings at the Mc Neil meet, Brock took the title with 142 points while Wall (151), Cameron Yoe (158), Spearman (163) and Seymour (207) rounded out the Top 5. In all, 43 teams competed in the women's `3A' race including nine ranked teams. The Apaches were the first team from private schools in the race with the Apaches taking 20th.
Olivia Lopez set the pace for the women at the Mc Neil meet by clocking in at 12:55. Greta Porisch gave ACP its second finisher of the race at 13:26 while Chloe Peterson finished at 14:28. Lauren Salgueiro finished at 14:33, and Daphnee Peterson, at 14:54, rounded out the team scoring for the Apaches. Alicia York finished in 15:05 while Ali Diaz finished in 15:24 completing the top 7 women's entries for Antonian.
Individually, Matt Gazda paced the men with his 3rd consecutive individual victory in 16:35. Following Gazda was Marcos Perez, 49th at 18:34; Cesar Rodriguez, 61st at 18:43, Gio Diaz, 66th at 18:46; and DJ Cortez, 77th at 18:56 to finish out the five scorers for the team. Kenny Cortez placed 81st (19:01) for ACP while Carlos Cardin finished in 171st at 20:15.
The Apaches will be back in action in Poth on Saturday, October 11th. Races are set to start at 8:00 am.

If you would like to order extra short sleeve or long sleeve shirts they will cost $15.00 for the SS and $18.00 for the LS.
